It’s a Tax That Only Those Evil Smokers Will Pay

So the Federal Government decided to pay for expanded healthcare for children by raising the taxes on tobacco, including cigars. We were told that only smokers would feel the effect. We were told that this is the fairest way to pay for an increase in SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program), the program to provide health insurance for children. Only those evil smokers will pay the price…

Another in the long line of government’s unintended consequences; 500 people are losing their jobs at a Tampa cigar factory as it closes because of lower demand brought on, in part, by the increase in taxes.

Oops.

I’m not going to argue the tax here. I just want to point out that everything the government does has consequences. We cannot let the government get away with the lie that this tax increase will only hurt those evil smokers; or only hurt those evil rich; or only hurt those evil corporations.

Let’s look at another example. Those evil corporate CEO’s are traveling by private jets. Let’s make the government make them fly commercial. Good idea? As orders for new private planes dry up, many of the workers that build those jets are laid off. As fewer people fly private jets, many of the pilots, maintenance people and attendants are put out of work. What category do all those workers fall into? Middle class! So we vilify the evil CEO’s flying in private jets and the middle class (The working people that politicians love to say they are helping) gets hurt.

It’s like when Clinton decided to tax those evil rich that were buying yachts. In one swift move, we almost destroyed the boat building business in this country. Congress couldn’t get back to session fast enough to repeal that stupid tax.

The Law of unintended consequences is the story of our bloated, interfering government.

I want to give a quick bow to Mark Levin for his incredible book “Liberty and Tyranny”.

Boys and girls, this is a game changer. He has successfully redefined the age old “liberal –vs- conservative” arguments in a way that makes things so clear. Oh, to have that much talent..

Not to sound so grandiose, but our survival as a free nation needed a book like this.

Count me as an anti-statist from now on!

The country is falling apart, we are in debt past our kids eyeballs and our esteemed Senate has passed a resolution apologizing for slavery.

Now, I know that some of them have been in Washington for a long time, but I'm pretty sure not one of them ever owned a slave. What courage, what guts! Maybe tomorrow, they will apologize for acne in teenagers or the assination of Julius Ceasar. they are as responsible for those as they are for slavery.

Robin Hood

Robin Hood is a story enjoyed by millions. Robin Hood was a noble who became a hero of the people because he stole from the rich and gave to the poor.

I am here to tell you that is a lie.

The story is not about rich and poor, it is about justice.

Let me explain... In the history of the world, there are two types of people. There are producers. They are the workers, the idea people, the business owners and entrepreneurs that create something out of nothing. The other side is called the looters. They are people who produce nothing or at least produce less than they consume. We now have looters running the government and taking the producers property by force. This was what Robin Hood faced.

Robin Hood was a hero, not because he stole from the rich, but because he stole from the looters and gave back to the producers. The sheriff of Nottingham was the looter. He stole from the producers in order to buy favor and loyalty from other nobles. He used the power of the state to force the producers to give up their hard earned property to finance this vote buying scheme.

Does that sound familiar? Today, politicians of both parties do the same thing.

We need a new Robin Hood. The last one that even got close was Ronald Reagan and he was thwarted by a looters congress that spent it faster than he could give it back.

Robin Hood. He stole from thieves and gave it back to its rightful owners. That should be the moral of the story.

Let Not the Looters Profit

Now that GM is GUM See Here and since I don’t believe in letting looters profit from their crimes, I am announcing that I will NEVER buy a GUM vehicle. I know that will be seen as harsh. I also know that using the word “profit” in a sentence about government involvement in anything is laughable. However, I stand by my position.

I know that people will lose they’re jobs, but I have two arguments against that being a problem. One is that they would have lost them anyway and it’s not my job to see that they have income. Second, would anyone condone keeping a job after finding out their employer had to steal the money to make payroll? That is what is happening. The money has been stolen from hard working people as a payback to the Unions that got PBO elected.

That’s change we can believe in!

Follow my lead and let GUM die. Let Not the Looters Profit!

Another note on “Single Payer”, i.e., Socialized Medicine

I just saw that insipid commercial promoting the June 25th Rally in Washington DC for a single payer healthcare system.

I have a problem. (Anyone surprised)

Forget for a moment that they got just the right spokesperson. She definitely appeals to the target audience… No, my problem is with her statement “Healthcare is a right” WRONG

A “Right” is inherent.

A “Right” is God given and cannot be taken away except by force.

A “Right” cannot require anyone else to give up something.

A “Right” exists without anyone else’s input.

In other words, I have a right to free speech. I do not have the right to force a newspaper to carry my article or letter. I have a right to attend whatever church I want, but do not have the right to force someone to give me a ride to that church.

There can be no “Right” to healthcare because that would require someone else’s property to be used. To have the Government give you healthcare, either a doctor must work for free or someone else must work for free to pay for it. (That’s called taxes) both of these scenarios require the giving of one’s property to satisfy the so called “Right”. And I thought we did away with slavery.

So have your rally. You have the right to speak. You even have the right to ask for something blatantly unconstitutional.

You have NO RIGHT to my labor to pay for it.
